Museum Cabernet Sauvignon Hilltops 2015
Regular price $75.00The Hilltops region is a growing region that Cabernet Sauvignon is particularly well suited to, tending to produce dark robust wines with distinct berry fruit signatures and firm tannin structures. Maturation for 12 to 15 months in one- and two-year-old French oak barriques add oak tannins to the wine and help soften the fruit tannins.
When young this wine was deep red in colour with a very dark centre, now showing a light tan rim and brick red with a rich coffee centre. A potent aroma of varietal blackcurrant, black olive, clove and nutmeg when young has matured with leather, mocha coffee and musky tobacco/cigar notes. The very muscular pallet with austere and noble tannins has now mellowed with typical aged Cabernet characters providing a long, balanced and integrated finish.
