The 2017 Sweetwater Estate Cabernet blocks were picked on the 18th and 27th February. The warm dry 2017 vintage resulted in beautifully ripe and pristine fruit. Deep red with blackberry, sage and cassis aromas and a fleshy palate with fine grained tannins.
Blackberry and jubey raspberry, cedar and tobacco, a pleasant earthiness and violet perfume. It’s medium to full-bodied, firm grainy almost gravelly tannin, something like iodine in there too, and a firm and slightly hard finish, tannin gripping as it goes.
