Another fine example of the wine that can be made from the cold climate region of Tumbarumba. We have been making Chardonnay from this region for over 30 years.

Aromas are delicate and refined, featuring notes of green apple, citrus, and pear, with a subtle mineral undertone. The cool climate of Tumbarumba enhances the retention of natural acidity, providing a zesty backdrop to the aromatics.

The French oak fermentation and aging impart a creamy, buttery texture, along with nuances of vanilla, toasted nuts, and a touch of spice. This combination of flavours creates a well-balanced and complex profile.

Zesty with linear and laser focused acidity that feels well embedded into the body of the wine, not forced but innate. A stony, pumice like minerality and a spray of tea rose florals. This is the kind of energetic Tumbarumba and modern Australian chardonnay that you could drink everyday. This will also age slowly and continue to show you more detail over the next 5-8 years. This Hunter Valley Shiraz is a refined expression of site, season, and careful winemaking.

Hand-harvested in the cool of early morning from select blocks across our Dalwood and Sweetwater Vineyards, the fruit was picked for freshness and balance before being matured for 12 months in French oak barriques (50% new, with the remainder in seasoned oak). The result is a Shiraz that layers subtle spice and oak complexity over vibrant, expressive fruit.

In the glass, it’s deep ruby with purple hues. Aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, and plum lead into notes of black pepper, clove, and dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, with dark fruit, hints of dark chocolate and espresso, and silky tannins carrying through to a long, composed finish.

A beautifully structured Shiraz with both generosity and restraint — and exceptional value while it’s in the EOFY sale.

Tannins are quite grainy and will see this wine age well, for now it adds chew and a gauze like grip, deepening textural complexity. Flavours linger long and wide with some subtle cedar and cassia bark spice. Taut with quivering energy and a wonderful assembly of fruit, herbs, soil and spice. Excellent value, buy it by the dozens. Partner with lamb cutlets, the fat juicy ones."
