Deep purple red with a nose of chocolate, earthy spice and blood plum, this follows with an incredibly smooth creamy palate with blackberry and plum fruit and dense supple tannins and a long fruit dominated finish.
The Blackberry vineyard is home to 35 year old dry grown Semillon vines. The grapes were harvested by hand in late January 2011 retaining balanced levels of natural acidity and heightened fruit intensity.
The fruit was immediately crushed, chilled, pressed and fermented at low temperature in stainless steel retaining the citrus, lime and lemongrass notes.
