Fiano originates in Campania, southern Italy. It is a hardy variety which produces small berries with thick skins and is renowned for retaining its natural acidity even in very warm conditions. Fiano thrives in the warm and humid climate of the lower Hunter and produces high quality fruit. The wines are medium bodied and aromatic with distinctive floral fruit and a textured palate.
Pale straw yellow, aromatic and ripe with aromas of mandarin and fresh garden herbs. The palate is textural with citrus fruit and gentle tannins from the varieties thick skins. The wine is defined by lingering lemon acidity for which the variety is well known, and ensures a refreshing finish.
