What a thumper this is, not least for a thirteen year old wine. It’s packed full of blackcurrant and blackberry pastille, mint, oyster shell, liquorice, with a little vanilla oak and violet laying on some perfume from above. Full bodied, sweet dark fruit, iodine and tobacco, fat thick tannin, balanced acidity, and a slurry of tannin and jubey dark fruit closing out a long finish. It will live for a very long time.
