The year is 1585, Elizabeth has been ruling England for nearly 30 years. Her Catholic cousin Mary is under house arrest in Scotland. Elizabeth and her country are under increasing threat of war with Spain. And then into Elizabeths life steps the gallant Sir Walter Raleigh, whos just returned from adventures in the New World.
